Lynch, population 296, is located in North Central Nebraska near
the eastern boundary of Boyd County. Lynch's townsite lies at the junction of
Whiskey and Ponca Creeks. The territory around Lynch is largely agricultural,
consisting of pasture land, rolling breaks and table lands, and dryland farm
ground. Ten miles to the north lies Sunshine Bottom and the Missouri
River which was part of the Lewis & Clark Trail and five miles
to the south of town runs the Niobrara River. Scenic Nebraska Highway
12 takes you through Lynch and the Ponca Valley.
